State Minister for Religious Affairs, Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs of Penang (Chairman of Halal Penang), YB Dato’ Abdul Malik Kassim announced that the 5th Penang International Halal Expo & Conference (PIHEC) will be held from 17-19 January 2014, and will be staged at the Setia sPICE, Penang (formerly known as PISA).
Organised by the State Government of Penang, under its halal facilitation agency, Halal Penang, PIHEC next year promises more than 300 booths of local and international exhibiting companies and organisations showcasing extensive range of halal products and services to be occupying the Main Arena and Concourse of the venue.
Closing the gap between Europe, West Asia and neighbouring countries of Southeast Asia, PIHEC is an ideal platform for business and industry players to establish and develop the Halal supply chain across the regions.
The expo is expected to be a convenient and effective one-stop centre for halal exporters and importers sourcing out domestic and international products and services from Northern Malaysia and the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand (IMT-GT) region.
The expo sets to witness participation from international business players from Belgium, Algeria, Netherlands, Turkey, Morroco, Iran and Pakistan to be occupying the prime sections of the Main arena at sPICE.
Local authorities such as Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC), Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) and Ministry of Health, Malaysia together with State Development Corporations of Kelantan, Kedah, Selangor and Sabah have all respectively confirmed their locations for next January’s event.
Others include the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI), Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) and Malaysian External Trade Agency (MATRADE) are all confirming their involvement for PIHEC 2014.
The three-day expo awaits public with fun-filled programmes and activities that will involves chef cuisines demonstration, Islamic forums and performances and lots more.
Great opportunity awaits business entrepreneurs in Halal Vendor Development Programmes, business-to-business sessions for global buyers that include trading, retailing, hospitality as well as airline industries amongst others during PIHEC 2014.
