Mawarid Finance has recently participated in the Global Microfinance Forum which took place in Dubai on October 6th, 2013, at Dusit Thani Hotel. Mawarid Finance was represented by Rehab Lootah, Managing Director, Mawarid Consultancy, Chief of Governance & Business Development Department at Mawarid Finance , and Mufti Aziz Ur Rehman, Manager, Shariah Department at Mawarid Finance Group. This forum which is organized by Al Huda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics aims at introducing the Islamic microfinance as an effective tool for poverty alleviation and social development, to set standards and develop the microfinance internationally through having dialogues with international donor/development agencies for sustainable developments.
Mufti Aziz Ur Rehman, Manager, Shariah at Mawarid Finance presented a paper entitled: “Shari’ah Foundation and Application of Islamic Microfinance”; which discussed the poverty and how to alleviate poverty in Islam, he also discussed the poverty in MENA region and the percentage of poverty according to the recent studies; and how the Islamic microfinance could be used for treatment of the financially distressed individuals.
Commenting on attending this event, Rehab Lootah, Managing Director, Mawarid Consultancy, Chief of Governance & Business Development Department at Mawarid Finance , said “Attending this event which match our company’s goals and objectives in contributing to the development of the Islamic Finance concept and enhance its role in alleviation of poverty through providing innovative shariah compliant finances which fit the needs and budget of our customers.
