OLDTOWN White Coffee has earned halal status, allowing Muslims to enjoy meals at all cafes in Peninsular Malaysia as well as at eight outlets in Singapore.
The Oldtown cafes in Peninsular Malaysia received the certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) while the eight cafes in Singapore got theirs from the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis).
Oldtown White Coffee chief operating officer and executive director Clarence Leon D’Silva said: “To ensure that all the outlets follow the requirements for the halal certification, Oldtown White Coffee has a strict system in buying and preparing the meals.
“There will also be at least two Muslim workers per shift at all outlets,’’ he added.
Also at the event, Oldtown White Coffee introduced its new special set menu, “MyDulang”, to commemorate good times with family and friends.
“MyDulang is introduced in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan,” said D’Silva.
It is priced at RM16.90 for the individual set and RM39.90 for the family set.
Sirap selasih is also included in the menu.
